Thanks to Whitehall for the great boat you build.  I am thoroughly enjoying my new Solo 14, having had a number of rows on Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake in Colorado.  With the dolly in tow it takes me 8 or 9 minutes to walk to the public dock, put in, and launch.  Slide seat rowing is great exercise but a major plus for me is getting out on the open water and sensing the moment and surroundings – mountain air, scenery, water lapping against the boat, birds, the motion from moving through the wavelets.  Perhaps too much of a poetic description but certainly undeniable enjoyment.

I’m attaching a few pictures of the first time out.  I plan on taking and sending a few more on a clearer day – if you want.  These don’t show how scenic these lakes are.  But first my wife and I will be taking a trip to see our son who is teaching school in South America.

Once again, thanks for the Solo 14 experience.
